Holliday Pigments and PVC colour systems specialist Astropol won the ‘Best Supplier Partnership’ (Masterbatch/ Additive/Compound) category at the 2010 Plastic Industry Awards.
In association with Crain Communications’ respected trade title, Plastics & Rubber Weekly (PRW), the awards programme has been recognising the influence of individuals, processors, suppliers and product designers on the industry for the last decade. Organisers introduced a new format for The Supplier Partnership category for the first time this year, inviting companies to submit written entries highlighting the benefits of collaboration between customer and supplier. This category has traditionally been selected by third party nominees but a panel of independent industry experts now has the deciding vote.
The Holliday Pigments- Astropol affiliation was one of three shortlisted supplier partnerships. The joint awards entry focussed on Astropol’s use of Holliday Pigments’ ultramarine blue to maintain the shade of its plastic products specially designed for the construction industry. Here its blue is used to keep Astropol’s PVC window profile systems whiter for longer and also helps to achieve the precise blue-black shade required for guttering and similar external plastics applications.
Said Paul Gilbertson, Supply Chain Manager at Astropol: “Holliday Pigments consistently delivers high levels of customer service and has shown enormous flexibility over the years. Any supply issues have been few and far between and dealt with efficiently. I have every confidence in the team’s ongoing commitment and their technical expertise is invaluable.”
