Holliday Pigments is showcasing new developments to its ultramarine pigments for plastics at Chinaplas 2009.
The three new additions to its Premier and Prestige ranges offer a slightly redder shade of blue compared to the Company’s existing grades. Comprising a standard version, a very dry specification for high pigmentation concentrates, and a low dust offering based on the properties of its Prestige line, Holliday Pigments’ presence at Chinaplas presents a timely opportunity to allow its Asia-Pac customers to preview these valuable enhancements.
“In volume terms, Asia is probably the largest consumer of technical ultramarines in the world,” said Holliday Pigments’ managing director, Glyn Jagger. “The new pigments have been developed in response to market demand and it will be interesting to gage the response from existing and potential customers at the event.”
These latest advancements are a result of Holliday Pigments’ continuing focus on research and development into harnessing new manufacturing techniques, enhancing its existing grades and exploiting the Company’s knowledge of ultramarine’s unique properties to perfect new pigment technologies.
Through this sustained investment, Holliday Pigments recently made another major advance. Its expert chemists devised a solution to the problem of maintaining pigment hue and intensity in acid conditions. While its previously available acid resistant grades had provided a good response to many of the difficulties posed under acid conditions, there were several specific parameters which needed further development.
Dissatisfied with the status quo, Holliday Pigments began researching the problem, which eventually saw the launch of its improved acid resistant grade Premier XAR for plastics. This grade has since been specified for a number of stadium applications and its capabilities will again be highlighted at Chinaplas alongside its free flowing, dust free Prestige products, which have all been approved for food contact plastics and toy applications, adhering to the industry’s most stringent testing.
“Exhibiting at international events is a key component of our marketing plan and our annual presence at Chinaplas has played a crucial part in our increasing profile in the Asia Pacific region and provides us with an ideal launch platform for our ongoing developments," said Glyn Jagger
“We look forward to revealing further product and corporate initiatives in the coming year, paving the way for an even bigger and better Chinaplas 2010.”
